Athletes trust an event with some of the most personal documents they own. We built Salah so that each of those documents reaches the people who need it and stays away from everyone else.
How Salah handles documents
Salah reads documents and flags problems, but it never approves anything by itself. An item only counts as ready once a named person on the organizer's team has signed it off, so a report that says a team is complete can be trusted.
Blood tests, medical declarations and other health documents go privately to the medical team. They are never posted in a group chat and never mentioned by name in a status update.
A team manager can see who is ready and who isn't, and can upload on an athlete's behalf. They can't open a teammate's medical document.
Checklists are built for each role, so officials aren't asked for blood tests and guests aren't asked for medical files. Collecting less sensitive data is the simplest way to protect it.
When an athlete sends a corrected document, the new file replaces the old one. There is always one current version of each item, rather than a long thread of attachments.
Each athlete talks to Salah in their own private conversation. Nobody else in the delegation can see their messages or their documents.
Who sees what
Athletes see their own progress, team managers see their team's progress, and only the medical desk ever opens a health document.
